About the Children’s Law Institute

The focus for this 25^th year will be on challenging ourselves, shaking things up, looking honestly at what it is like to be a child in New Mexico, and asking how we move forward towards better outcomes for our kids and their families, especially those who are involved with—or at risk of involvement with—the juvenile justice and child welfare systems. We want to push the envelope, be honest about some uncomfortable truths and look at the tough issues we face in our state. We then want to present new, innovative and challenging ideas for how we can truly make change.
