Learning Objectives:

  1. Define mindfulness and “presence”.
  2. List 3 ways mindfulness and being present affects the brain to help regulate the nervous system and increases your awareness of your performance or areas of impairment.
  3. Explain how “presence” can increase your ability to identify subtle areas of discrimination/judgments you may have and evaluate potential boundary challenges.
  4. Develop at least 5 strategies to increase mindfulness during the work day.  And #5, evaluate your clinical behavior through the model of Stephen Porges’ Polyvagal theory.
